2024 OWBL Executive
Meet our executive
Our executive is comprised of players in our league. They are nominated and voted in each calendar year. They are volunteers.
Stephanie Iwasa
(She/Her)
PRESIDENT
There’s so much I love about baseball including making catches, meeting amazing people and friends from different backgrounds, and traveling. Outside of baseball I’m a scientist at KITE at the University Health Network. I like trying new things, exploring, and playing games with family and friends.
Emily Amorin
(She/Her)
VICE PRESIDENT
First and most importantly, I am a die hard leafs fan. GO LEAFS GO! I have a black lab named Ally who is full of energy and loves to run along side me on my nightly jogs. I’ve been playing baseball since I was two and was hired by the Jays to run two children’s teams for them until COVID19 shut it down. I help run the On Deck Program and I also have an unhealthy love for Coca Cola.
Shawna-Marie Harper
(She/Her)
CONVENOR
I grew up playing baseball with my sister in Royal York Baseball League’s girls program and absolutely love the game, but the best part about playing in the OWBL are the people, the friendships that I’ve gained on and off the field. I play 1st base primarily, but also catch sometimes. I now live in Peterborough, but the commute to play ball is totally worth it!
Kylie O’Donnell
(She/Her)
MARKETING CO-ORDINATOR
In addition to being a member of the OWBL I am also the Manager of Coach Development for Canadian Girls Baseball. When I’m not playing, coaching, or watching baseball, I love being creative. Anything from creating detailed designs on a pumpkin to shooting and editing videos with my GoPro. In 2019, I graduated from the University of Toronto with a PhD in Chemical Engineering.
Alana McKinley
(She/Her)
TREASURER
My love for the game of baseball is second to none, and when not on the field playing, I enjoy spending a summer night watching a Jays game while relaxing by a bonfire. I am a utility player, which means my coaches can put me almost anywhere on the field when needed. I love shopping, spending time with my niece and nephew, Baseballisms and keeping my teammates on their toes, always joking around or offering up some baseball wisdom/advice.
Amanda Deconinck
(She/Her)
SECRETARY
I started playing baseball when I was ten years old and have loved it ever since! I play second and third base, and love to run the bases. I cherish the friends I’ve made from the sport, and really enjoy working together with my teammates to achieve a common goal. When I’m not on the diamond, I love staying active with other sports, or reading a good book.
Hannah Pelletier
(She/Her)
CO-JUNIOR EXECUTIVE MEMBER
I am currently in my last year at University! I play third base and back-catcher because I play goalie in hockey. I love blocking the ball with my body to make plays. My nickname is puppy because I love chasing after fly balls. As you can see from my picture, I love donuts (giant ones are the best).
Beth Deconinck
(She/Her)
CO-JUNIOR EXECUTIVE MEMBER
I have been playing baseball since I was 10 years old! Baseball and softball are my favourite sports to play, and I grew up playing both every summer with my twin sister. I love playing shortstop and running the bases. When I’m not playing ball I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, studying science, and reading a good book.
Andrea Harris
(She/Her)
PAST PRESIDENT
I’ve always been a sports fanatic…and a science fiction nerd. I’ve played in this league for almost 20 years and was lucky enough to play a few seasons with Team Ontario. I love pitching and playing short stop. When I’m not playing baseball, I spend my free time playing various musical instruments, watching Star Trek, riding my motorcycle, and hanging out with friends.
Nominations for any executive position must be sent to the President or designate a minimum of two weeks prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) each calendar year.
If there is more than one nomination per position, the nominees will be announced 2 weeks prior to the AGM, and results of voting will be announced at the AGM.
The AGM will be held prior to March 1st of each calendar year.
